Club members care for and maintain the plantings at the Connie Morella (Bethesda) and Davis Public Libraries.
In previous years, members have held holiday greens workshops in December, making small festive arrangements and delivering them to area shelters and social service organizations. (After the pandemic, the club will resume this activity.)
In early June, the club organizes an annual picnic for its membership, which features a guided tour of a notable regional garden or another inspiring garden-related destination. In the past, members have enjoyed visits to such popular sites as Mount Vernon, near Alexandria, VA, Lewis Ginter Arboretum further afield in Richmond, VA, Baltimore City’s Cylburn Arboretum, and in Suitland, MD the Smithsonian Gardens Greenhouse Facility.
Members have an opportunity to schedule a morning, afternoon or evening to open their garden to the membership, inviting members to view, share ideas, gain advice or to simply enjoy the camaraderie of gardeners – outdoors.
